Obtain UserID, Password and Developer's Key from your country's UPS E-Business web site. (See the
'Security Elements' section in the Product Overview chapter.)
Obtain Access Key. (See 'Security Elements' in the Product Overview section.)
For Signature Tracking and Shipping, follow the product certification process identified in the Customer
Integration Environment section.
Fill in the parameters list below and set UPS system as active and begin receive you online shipping rates.
ShipperPostalCode - The shipper's postal code. Required if country utilizes postal codes (i.e. US & PR)
ShipperCountryCode - The UPS billing code for the shipper's country. See Origin Country Information
table. Default = US.
ShipFromPostalCode - The sender's postal code. Required if Ship To country code is US. Must supply
either the sender's city or postal code.
ShipFromCountryCode - The UPS billing code representing the sender's country. See Appendix C for
UPS Country Code table. Default = US.
PackageWeightUnitOfMeasurement - The code representing the unit of measure associated with the
package weight. LBS = Pounds (default) KGS = Kilograms

For PackagingType 02 or 21 you must fill PackagingTypeUnitOfMeasurement, PackageLength,

PackagingTypeUnitOfMeasurement - The code for the unit of measure associated with the package
dimensions. IN = Inches (default)
PackageLength - The length of the package used to determine dimensional weight. Valid values are
between 1 and 108.00.
PackageWidth - The width of the package used to determine dimensional weight. Valid values are
between 1 and 108.00.
PackageHeight - The height of the package used to determine dimensional weight. Valid values are
between 1and 108.00.

United States Postal Service (USPS).
To use the USPS Web Tools you must be a registered user. Completing the registration process resulted in the receipt of your user ID, password, and test server URL. This test URL is already filled in.
To gain access to Live server, all users, including those registered for previous Web Tools use, must contact the Internet Customer Care Center (ICCC) for the URL to make Live calls. The ICCC will send the Live URL via e-mail. Fill live url in the field External URL instead of present one.

Common parameters:
USERID - required, use user ID provided with registration.
PASSWORD - is not required now, use password provided with registration if any.
Domestic parameters:
ZipOrigination - required. Your ZIP code where dispath will be made from. ZIP code must be valid. Maximum characters allowed: 5.
Container - required, is only applicable for Express Mail and Priority Mail. Must contain one of the following valid packaging type names: "Flat Rate Envelope", "Flat Rate Box", "RECTANGULAR", "NONRECTANGULAR"
Size - required, must be one of the following: "Regular", "Large", "Oversize".
Machinable - optional. Applies only to Parcel Post. For Parcel Post, the value entered must be either "True" or "False".
International parameters:
MailType - required, the following are valid international mail types: "package", "postcards or aerogrammes", "matter for the blind", "envelope".
Dimensions:
To capture the dimensional weight for Large Priority Mail pieces, RateV3 will require three new dimension tags for rectangular Priority Mail pieces: Length, Width, and Height;
and four new dimension tags for non-rectangular pieces: Length, Width, Height, and Girth.
Shippers will specify in the existing Container tag whether a Large Priority Mail piece is rectangular or non-rectangular.
PLEASE NOTE.
USPS service does not work for orders with weight more than 70 pounds. If you may receive orders that exceed this limit and you want to charge some shipping fee for them, don't forget to set up alternative Shipping Module with Shipping Types that will handle over-weighted orders.
If you use USPS shipping module as the only shipping module of the shop please use functionality to restrict order placing if the weight is not in the following bounds 0 -70. And if the order exceeds these bounds appropriate error message will be shown. This restriction can be set on Orders > Order Profile Page, Order Restrictions section, Weight setting.
Testing:
Please note that for test purposes USPS permits only particular parameters' values to be used for the query. So in the Test mode it expects to receive the following information about the package for domestic shipping:
ZipOrigination: 10022
ZipDestination: 20008 (is set during Checkout process by user)

Ounces: 5 (weight can be set for every product on Administration > Products)

All other parameters' values won't work in the test environment.
The FedEx sign-up process requires some interaction with the company. FedEx requires that developers and their applications be certified. The first step is to register for a FedEx Ship Manager Direct account by visiting https://www.fedex.com/cgi-bin/shipapiDownload.cgi?link=4&first=y and completing the form. In addition to the standard contact information, you must indicate how you intend to use their online tools. If you're developing e-commerce solutions for multiple clients, choose the Consultant option, otherwise select Corporate Developer. Select the communication path used - FSM Direct. Finally, you'll need to select the Data Format desired - XML Tools. After you've registered, you'll be given an address to a shipping server to be used in your testing phases, please apply it to 'External URL' field below.
You'll need to next contact FedEx by e-mail (websupport@fedex.com) to request to have you or your client's account set up in a test environment. You'll need to specify whether you're using the Express, Ground, or both services. As well you can include source code from the shipping folder to contact the FedEx Direct. Although the company's documentation indicates a 24 hour turn-around for approval, representatives indicate the wait can go up to 72 hours.
After you've been approved, the next task is to subscribe to FedEx to get a meter number. Meter numbers are programmatically generated. Before sending subscription request please change the parameters below.
